For delicate clothes:

  • Wash inside out

  • Use cold water

  • Use a gentle cycle

  • Use a mesh bag if available

  • Air dry when possible

No clothesline? No problem… you can also use:

  • Rolling clothing rack

  • Standable drying rack

  • The shower rod

  • Open doors or door frames as long as the moisture will not damage the surface.

    • Many clothing items can and should be fluffed first in the dryer, to get rid of wrinkles and excess moisture. Be sure to shake them out as well.

    • DO NOT FLUFF: bras, wool, very delicate items, items with fragile elastic, or anything on which the care label says “Do not tumble dry”

Delicates and Dryer-Free Clothes Care

What Not to Put in Dryer

Be careful with:

  • Bras

  • Delicates

  • Wool

  • Some sweaters

  • Some workout clothes

  • Clothes with elastic

  • Clothes that may shrink

  • Shoes, unless the care label says it is safe

  • Anything with a stain that has not come out yet
